Town’s annual memorial service scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday
NEW HAMPTON, N.Y. (September 10, 2019) – The Michael and Erin Martucci Family Foundation recently presented a gift to the Town of Deerpark for its annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony.
Town Clerk Flo Santini accepted the gift on behalf of the Town and State Assemblyman Karl Brabenec during a Martucci family visit to the 9/11 Memorial in late August. Brabenec dedicated the memorial in 2010 during his time as Town Supervisor and was in attendance.
The Town of Deerpark will hold its annual memorial service for the 18th anniversary at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 11 at Deerpark Town Hall. A moment of silence will be held at 8:46 a.m., the time of the striking of Flight 11 into the North Tower. Police officers, firefighters, EMS workers, military, and family members of the fallen are especially invited to attend.
The Flag of Honor at the Town Hall bears the names of all those who were tragically lost that Tuesday morning 18 years ago. One name holds a special place in the hearts of The Michael and Erin Martucci Family Foundation, that of Erin’s sister, Michelle Bratton.
“Michelle, and the additional 2,976 victims and counting, will never be forgotten thanks to communities like Deerpark who ensure the memory of that day lives on forever,” Michael Martucci said. “We are honored to have partnered with the Town of Deerpark at such an important time for Hudson Valley families and communities.”
The Michael and Erin Martucci Family Foundation’s mission is to inspire and empower members of the community to develop innovative ideas to address the many needs of the Hudson Valley and Catskills regions’ residents. The new foundation has committed to contributing a total of $250,000 over a three-year period to any number of organizations that fall within the following categories: education, women’s and children’s advocacy, agriculture and job creation.
